Knitting at the Beach!

Finally, today I got to knit at the beach! My son, daughter and I went down to visit my mom (my knitting mentor) and dad, who live at the Jersey Shore. It was the nicest weather over Memorial Day that we can remember, so as we sat on the beach today, I worked on my Embossed Leaves Socks from Interweave Knits, which are coming out beautifully. I’m motivated by that STR yarn staring at me in my stash each day!
I am almost done with the first sock–see progress here.
I also brought my Einstein Coat, and made a lot of progress on that. It’s nice to work the simple garter stitch on one project, with heavy, scratchy Lopi, and then switch to the socks, on #1 needles with a smooth, lightweight wool.

Love the color of these socks. I purchased some of Claudia’s sock yarn a few days ago, rolled it into balls, but am still trying to decide what pattern to use. The yarn feels great!
